We had many requests to bring content security of your videos to the next level. As you might imagine this can be quite hard, but our team created measures and steps in order to maximize your content security on the internet.
HLS segmentation encryption (currently in BETA)
To enable this feature, simply tick the Secure My Video checkbox when you're uploading a new video. This feature is currently being tested meaning that we are making gradual improvements based on feedback.
Enabling this feature will accomplish secured (encrypted) delivery stream of fragmented parts of your video. This makes it really hard to download content, and even if the content is downloaded decryption should be almost impossible.
Note regarding older videos uploaded to vooPlayer, When we are confident that the system is performing well. We will enable this by default and start retroactively applying the new encryption to the older videos.
Update, Nov. 17th. 2017 - We've added an extra layer of security to the encoding process.
One time access
We build in a one time watch Token, which stops users from downloading your content. Each time they try, they will fail as the app will show them a set of numbers that have to be validated first.
To read more about this security method here's an official Wiki page for it - https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Time-based_One-time_Password_Algorithm
Second step we added is to hide your video source, it is really easy to download anything if you have the file source. But your videos will not have any visible video source.
Domain level and password protection
Third and the final step, in v4 we are featuring domain access. Now you get to control which domains have access to your content.
You can also lock your videos with set password, to learn more about this feature check this help-article here - Password Protect
